Services Offered

Bekins offers a variety of moving services tailored to the needs of your transferees. These include programs such as guaranteed service, full value transit protection and programs for relocating employees that are receiving a lump sum or direct reimbursement for their moving expenses.

Guaranteed Service

Bekins commits to specific pick up and delivery dates on moves exceeding 5,000 lbs. (depending on your rates and services agreement), so that your transferee can make realistic plans and return to productivity as quickly as possible. This eliminates excessive lodging and storage-in-transit costs and gets your employee back to the office in a timely fashion.

Transit Protection

Bekins is committed to providing the highest quality of moving services to your transferees; however, occasionally damage does occur. For your transferees’ peace of mind, we offer full value transit protection called “For All It’s Worth”.

Your employees will not have to worry about their goods. If an item is lost or damaged during their move with Bekins, our “For All It’s Worth” full value protection offers them the full replacement value of items at today’s replacement cost, without depreciation up to the dollar amount of value they declare, or repair. In addition, this coverage extends to “pairs and sets”, where if one item in a pair or set is damaged beyond repair or is lost and an exact replacement cannot be found, we will replace the entire set. The cost of this protection depends on the declared value of their shipment and the deductible they choose. This option gives them the peace of mind they need to be assured that if anything happens, they are protected.

Lump Sum and Direct Reimbursement Services

We know that companies like yours are making significant investments in time and money to ensure a successful transfer. We also are aware that many corporations offer a variety of tiered relocation policies depending on the level of the employee that is being transferred.

Bekins can assist you with your multi-tiered relocation policies with an innovative new program called enCompass ™, a new direction in relocation designed especially for those transferees receiving a lump sum or a direct reimbursement. With enCompass, you can offer your lump sum candidates a high level of service and product offerings at no additional cost. Bekins can provide them with a variety of pre-move services including home marketing assistance, mortgage assistance, temporary housing assistance, and new community information, all in a menu-driven format so that your employees can take control of their move.

Our Customer Care group includes take charge individuals who are focused on providing your transferees with the assistance they need throughout the relocation process. These include specialized individuals on our Corporate Watch Team.

Corporate Relocation Process

Bekins’ expectations of its service providers are clearly defined in our Corporate Relocation Process. We have developed this process to have better service and communication performance within our organization. Consistency and discipline in our approach is mandatory. This process focuses on the duties and responsibilities of each service provider within the Bekins organization.

Full commitment by van line staff, drivers and agent personnel is required on each and every shipment. We have implemented monthly and quarterly assessments, including Internet reporting to ensure these commitments are upheld.

 

Quality Assurance

Customers insist on conducting business with companies that have a quality measurement process in place. Bekins has established several measurement programs to keep our customer satisfaction level high.

What does this mean to you? It means that you can be assured that you will receive the highest quality relocation services for your transferees.

Performance Excellence

Bekins has defined metrics and has put together a Performance Excellence Program. This program allows us to measure our agents and service providers on nine specific standards.

One of the keys to our performance excellence is implementing successful training programs specifically designed for Bekins Drivers and Customer Service Associates. Through this program, Bekins benchmarks and sets goals for our providers and incorporates these metrics into an incentive based program. This assists us in recognizing our top service providers and implementing corrective action training programs for those falling below our standards.

These metrics are used to measure important processes including customer satisfaction, training for drivers and sales representatives, and claims performance.

Our Performance Excellence Metrics measure:

  • On-Time Performance including how we did on packing, loading, delivery, communication, invoicing and claims settlement.
  • Loss and Damage-Free Service measures the condition of the items shipped at origin or destination sites and determines that there was no loss or damage of items shipped.
  • Driver and Crew’s safety and appearance, organizational skills and their training and certification.

The Bekins Quality Index (BQI) was developed as a tool to measure the quality of our service provided to our customers. Information is downloaded into BQI for real time reporting. All service providers are held accountable for their level of service. Using a rating scale of 1 to 5, BQI measures a customer's satisfaction with the salesperson, communication with thier move team, packing services, driver, and overall customer satisfaction. All results are published quarterly and submitted to our clients for review.
